Ski Painting Description: The painting "Danger Zone" embodies both the excitement and danger of skiing off-piste. Inspired by the feeling of a racing heartbeat and sharp reactions when approaching a potentially avalanche prone slope. High risk factors combine, such as a thick layer of wind-blown snow covering a convex shaped slope. The skier in the painting senses the danger zone, turns and sends a plume of snow into the air. The brush strokes flow on the canvas to create texture on the snow and a rippled effect, just how the wind can leave the snow.
